COVID-19

** Updated Safari Pediatrics Procedures (effective 3/23/20) **

Safari Pediatrics is committed to the well-being of all children and to providing the safest environment for patients, employees and our community. With this in mind, we have made several temporary changes to our standard operating procedures.

  • Our office hours will temporarily change to Monday-Thursday 9:00am to 2:00pm, however Dr. Jaafar will still be available via telemedicine until 6:00 pm.

  • At this time we are seeing patients up to 18 months, 4-5 years and 11-12 years for well visits w/shots and patients of all ages for shot only appointments. We will continue to see patients of all ages for certain sick visits via telemedicine.

  • Patients and visitors will be screened for potential exposure to the coronavirus upon scheduling an appointment and visiting the office by answering three questions:

    • In the past 14 days, has the patient, their caregiver, or any other close household contact, traveled internationally or taken a cruise?

    • In the past 14 days, has the patient, their caregiver, or any other close household contact, been in any gathering or closed environments (plane, concert, school, meeting, etc.) with any person with a laboratory diagnosis of Coronavirus (COVID-19)?

    • Are you experiencing a  fever (100.4 degrees or greater) or active cough?

    • If the answer is yes to any of the questions, they will not be permitted to enter the office and will be redirected to telemedicine for guidance and further treatment.

  • Upon check-in, each patient and caregiver will have their temperature taken. Anyone with a fever higher than 100.4 degrees will not be permitted to enter.

  • After checking in, patients and caregivers will be required to wait in the car or outside until it is time for your visit to begin. You may be asked to remain in your car and staff will perform the visit carside.

  • Only ONE healthy caregiver should accompany the patient to the office. Please leave siblings at home.
